Fluid Display - Video Player

Fluid Display - Video Player is a template for standard display, that is designed to make it easy to generate a set of different sized standard display banners with an embedded 16:9 video, using a minimal amount of assets. Once the template has been configured for one size, you can then duplicate it within the campaign, and just edit the width, height & name of each, to produce all the banner sizes you need.

The template will automatically select and load the appropriate assets for its dimensions upon impression, swapping between either horizontal or vertical assets dependant upon the best fit for its size and shape.

The following specs and guidelines are designed to give a good looking output for the majority of standard display sizes, however for some of the more extreme aspect-ratio sizes (such as 120x600 or 728x90) you may prefer to upload assets that are designed specifically for those sizes. In these cases, for background, just double the dimensions of the placement you want to produce, eg for a 120x600 the perfect background size is 240x1200. Assets

Backgrounds

You must upload both a 'landscape', and a 'portrait' background. Be aware that backgrounds may appear heavily cropped on some formats, so keep all your important elements towards the middle. Consider how the overlay and video will will be placed on top of the background, and adjust your framing and composition accordingly. Note that in order to enhance readability, the template automatically applies a slight blur effect to the background - this can be increased or disabled as desired.

Overlays

Overlays should be used for your main messaging and branding. They will be centered on top of the background, and scaled to use as much of the available space as possible, without appearing cropped or cut off. As with the backgrounds, both a 'landscape', and 'portrait' variant of the overlay should be utilised, to allow for the template to swap between horizontal and vertical layouts as necessary.

Video

The template support one 16:9 video, which will appear inside a video player (with an optional unmute button) either at the bottom or on the right side of the creative (layout can be reversed if desired). The video will be automatically optimised and streamed for fast and efficient playback, using our video streaming technology.

Format description and guidance

Add your click URL, and then upload your landscape and portrait background images. If you want to customise the automatic background blur effect, you and disable it or increase the intensity.

Upload your video file. A mute/unmute button will be added to the creative automatically - if your video does not have audio or you do not want this, then make sure to set 'Audio' to 'Disabled'. The video will automatically be transcoded and optimised to 3.5mb, however you can reduce this if necessary (eg if a publisher has stricter requirements around max file sizes) by modifying the max stream weight value.

Next add your overlays. Both the portrait and landscape overlays are a required part of the template, so you will not be able to save until you have added them both.

Finally you can customise the keyline border around the creative. By default it is a semi-transparent black line, however you may customise the colour or opacity as desired.

Audio

Supports audio, must be muted by default.

Below is a list of actual sizes for overlay dimensions of the most common standard display sizes. It may be used to create assets that are a perfect fit for any format, in the event that the generic ones don't look as good on a specific size.
