Fluid Display - Standard is a template for standard display, that is designed to make it easy to generate a set of different sized standard display banners, using a minimal set of assets. Once the template has been configured for one size, you can then duplicate it within the campaign, and just edit the width, height & name of each, to produce all the banner sizes you need.
The template will automatically select and load the appropriate assets for its dimensions upon impression, swapping between either horizontal or vertical assets dependant upon the best fit for its size and shape.
These specs and guidelines are designed to give an adequate output across the majority of standard display sizes, however for some of the more extreme aspect-ratio sizes (such as 120x600 or 728x90) you may prefer to upload background assets that are designed specifically for those sizes. In these cases, you can just double the dimensions of the creative size you want to produce, eg for a 120x600 the perfect background size is 240x1200.
Examples
160x600

Backgrounds
You can use either Videos or Images as backgrounds. Whichever type you choose, you must upload both a 'landscape', and a 'portrait' version of it. Be aware that backgrounds may be heavily cropped on some display sizes, so keep all your key elements away from the edges, towards the middle. Also consider that the overlays will be placed on top of the background, so you should ensure sufficient contrast and clear space for the overlay elements to be clearly legible.
- Image
- Landscape (JPG/PNG/WEBP, 1920x740 or similar, max 250kb)
- Portrait (JPG/PNG/WEBP, 640x960 or similar, max 250kb)
- Video
- Landscape - (MP4, 1920x740 or similar, max 50mb)
- Portrait - (MP4, 1920x740 or similar, max 50mb)
Overlays
Overlays should be used for your main messaging and branding. They will be centered on top of the background, and scaled to use as much of the available space as possible, without appearing cropped or cut off. As with the backgrounds, both a 'landscape', and 'portrait' variant of the overlay should be utilised, to allow for the template to swap between horizontal and vertical layouts as necessary.
- Landscape - PNG/WEBP, (800x200 or similar, max 250kb)
- Portrait - PNG/WEBP, (600x800 or similar, max 250kb)
The logo & CTA are two additional overlays that will appear around the main overlay. Their size and position may vary depending on the dimensions of the format, but generally the logo will appear on the top or left side, and the cta on the bottom or on the right side. We recommend exporting these assets without any additional white space, the final width and height of these assets can be constrained using the relevant parameters in the creative wizard.
- Logo - PNG/SVG/WEBP - (450x240 or similar, max 100kb)
- CTA - PNG/SVG/WEBP - (450x120 or similar, max 100kb)
Format description and guidance
Under the main creative parameters, set the width and height of your desired standard display placement. If you have multiple sizes of creative to produce, we recommend starting with a square format such as a 300x250 or 320x320.
If you are producing an image based creative, upload your background images into parameters 1.0a and 1.0b. If you are producing a video based creative, upload your background videos into parameters 1.1a and 1.1b.
Add your click URL, and then upload your assets for backgrounds, overlays, logo & CTA. The overlays are required as part of the template, so you will not be able to save until you have added an asset for each of them.
For the logo & CTA elements, you may add constraints to control their size - this may be useful for specific sizes if the logo or CTA appear too big. Just enter a pixel value, and the asset will be scaled to ensure it never exceeds that size.
Finally you can customise the keyline border around the creative. By default it is a semi-transparent black line, however you may customise the colour or opacity as desired.
