The VAST Tag Player lets a Standard Display placement render a third-party VAST tag inside a fixed-size Adnami banner without rebuilding the creative as custom HTML. Use it when the media owner or ad server supplies a VAST tag and the campaign still needs to run in MPU, skyscraper, leaderboard, or other standard display placements.
Best suited for
- Standard Display campaigns that must ingest an external VAST response instead of a directly uploaded MP4.
- Placements that need optional endframes or a simple overlay on top of the video player.
Supported ad units
The player inherits the configured banner size from the placement. Common dimensions include 300x250, 300x600, 160x600, 320x320, 728x90, and 970x250. Use the final placement size as the reference for any optional overlay or endframe artwork.
Standard Display guidance
Set up one banner per required size, then paste the third-party VAST tag URL into the VAST Tag URL field. Use contain when the full video frame must remain visible and cover when a full-bleed crop is acceptable. If the creative should stay silent, set Audio to Disabled so the player does not expose an unmute control.
Optional endframes and overlay assets should match the intended banner aspect ratio. Export them at 2x resolution where possible so they remain sharp on high-density screens.
Trafficking checklist
1. Create a Standard Display canvas placement at the required banner size.
2. Choose VAST Tag Player in the Banner Placeholder field.
3. Paste the VAST tag, confirm click tracking, then add any optional endframe or overlay assets before previewing each banner size.
