      Guide to Creating Test Links with Adnami extension tool

      Quick and easy way of using Adnami's test link creator tool within the Adnami Extension.

      This guide explains how to generate test links using the Adnami extension. There are two main scenarios: creating links with your own formats or using existing Adnami formats on a page.

      Use Cases: Publisher 📰

      Objective: Create test links for website issues or sales presentations, showcasing ad formats on your branded site.

      • You have identified a potential issue (e.g., ad rendering, layout problem) on your website that needs a specific ad or content to be displayed for testing.

      • Your sales team requires live examples of ad formats on your actual website for client demonstrations, rather than generic mock-ups.

      • The test link creator is integrated with your website's content management system (CMS) or ad server.

      Use Cases: Agency 🎯

      Objective: Generate screen grabs for new campaign setups and send test links to advertisers to preview campaigns in a live-like environment.

      • You are setting up new ad campaigns for clients.

      • Advertisers need to see how their creatives will render on actual websites, not just static previews.

      Scenario 1: Creating a Test Link with Your Own Formats


      Follow these steps when you want to test specific formats you've defined:

      1. Enable feature: Click on the three dots on the top right and enable the feature called "Enable test link lite".

      2. Add Your Formats: Navigate to the webpage where you want to test. Use the Adnami extension tool to add the formats you wish to include in your test link. You can add multiple formats.

      3. Generate Link: Click on the Adnami extension icon in your Chrome browser, then select "Generate test link".

      4. Select Formats: A list of available formats will appear. Choose the specific formats you want to include in your test link.

      5. Copy Link: Click "Copy test link".

      6. Verify & Send:

        • Paste the copied link into your browser's URL bar and press Enter. This lets you verify that the link displays as intended.

        • If everything looks correct, send the test link to the intended receiver.

      For the test link to work correctly, the receiver must either:

      • Have the Adnami extension installed in their browser.

        or

      • The page itself must be "On Page enabled" by Adnami.

        • To check this, open the extension tool and click on "Macro status"


      Scenario 2: Creating a Test Link from a Site with Existing Adnami Formats


      Use these steps when the webpage already has Adnami formats present:

      1. Enable feature: Click on the three dots on the top right and enable the feature called "Enable test link lite".

      2. Generate Link: Go to the desired webpage. Click on the Adnami extension icon, then select "Generate test link".

      3. Choose Formats: A list of the page's existing Adnami formats will appear. Choose the formats you want to include in your test link.

      4. Copy Link: Click "Copy test link".

      5. Verify & Send:

        • Insert the copied link into your browser's URL and press Enter to check that it displays as intended.

        • If it looks good, send the test link to the intended receiver.

      For the test link to work correctly, the receiver must either:

      • Have the Adnami extension installed in their browser.

        or

      • The page itself must be "On Page enabled" by Adnami.

        • To check this, open the extension tool and click on "Macro status"
